Fizzy, Fuzzy, and Fine

Sorry for the lack of posting lately, but homework/everything else was calling.

However.

Let's all take a moment to breathe in the gorgeous-ness of this dress:

I love the nod to 60s pop-patterns, and the length of this shift is perfect. You could wear this with thick, textured tights and booties, or (and this is why it is so fabulous) you could wear it later, like in the summer or spring, with flats or sandals. Thus, the $288 price tag should be considered an INVESTMENT (are you listening, mom?)

It's yours at Anthropologie (where else?!)

Laver's Law

I'd like to cite the *fabulous* Susie Bubble's fashion blog [http://stylebubble.typepad.com/style_bubble/] for this next post of mine. I read hers, and thought it was cute, and wanted to share it with you, my lovely readers. Enjoy♥

Laver's Law: [dictating the decorum of an era of dress]

Indecent: 10 years before its time

Shameless: years before its time

Daring: 1 year before its time

Smart: ----------

Dowdy: 1 year after its time

Hideous: 10 years after its time

Ridiculous : 20 years after its time

Amusing: 30 years after its time

Quaint: 50 years after its time

Charming: 70 years after its time

Romantic: 100 years after its time

Beautiful: 150 years after its time

So, would you rather be amusing, or charming? Romantic or beautiful? I'd life to be a combination of all of them if you ask me.

Romantic!

If you can forgive my messy room, I'll love you forever. I'm wearing:
* My lovely Betsey Johnson dress I scored for $100. (okay. I lied. My mom got this one for me-love you!)
* $15 gray faux-cashmere cardigan from Target
*Standard opaque brown tights from DKNY
*my Marc Jacobs/Gucci look-a-like Nine West platforms from Marshalls
*$5 stretch black headband, with teased updo, naturally.

See??? You don't have to break the bank to look high fashion!
I wanna see YOUR outfits now!!!!

WUNDERKIND [♥]

I've never really looked into this designer before, and I'm kind of regretting it. Look at this fetching frock from the Spring RTW 2007 collection:

The best things in life are free...

Or, in this case, they're from seasons past! Take for example, Donna Karan's Fall RTW 2003 collection:

I love, LOVE the hair, and, wouldn't ya know, the thick headbands are a trend on the runways now?? I may just make my own, because I'm not about to spend money on a stretchy cotton headband.

The Picture of Health?

I'm not sure who all have heard of this, BUT:

"Madrid's fashion week has turned away underweight models after protests that girls and young women were trying to copy their rail-thin looks and developing eating disorders.'Fashion is a mirror and many teenagers imitate what they see on the catwalk,' said regional official Concha Guerra. The mayor of Milan, Italy, Letizia Moratti, told an Italian newspaper this week she would seek a similar ban for her city's show unless it could find a solution to "sick" looking models.
The Madrid show is using the body mass index or BMI -- based on weight and height -- to measure models. It has turned away 30 percent of women who took part in the previous event. Medics will be on hand at the September 18-22 show to check models." (CNN.com)

I personally think it's a good idea, considering how many girls and young women look up to those in the fashion world. What do you all think?
